Who is the greatest footballer of all time?

How many times Brazil has won the World Cup?

Who is the best footballer of all time? This is no doubt a big argument and probably the argument will go on to infinity. Football was invented in England. However, Brazil is considered the king of all  footballing countries. Having won 5 world cup titles, Brazil has given birth to many legendary footballers. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known by his nickname Pelé,  was born in Brazil in 1940 to a poor family. His father Dondinho was also a footballer in the popular Brazilian club Fluminense. Unfortunately his career was short because of his critical injury.

The nickname of Edson was Dico, however the name Pele came into existence from his school days. He received the nickname "Pelé" during his school days, when, it is claimed, he was given it because of his pronunciation of the name of his favorite player, local Vasco da Gama goalkeeper Bilé, which he misspoke, but the more he complained the more it stuck.

He was scouted by the famous Snatons club of Brazil. At the time of 1956, his first time at Santos he was claimed as the national treasure. He won three FIFA world cups within a span of 12 years. 1958, 1962 and 1970, by winning 3 world championships he made the number 10 shirt legendary.

Another legend of Argentina was Maradona,  who won the 1986 world cup. He also made his club Boca Juniors very dominating at the time of his playtime. However, his legacy goes to another level at the time of his career at the Italian club Napoli. After the death of Diego Maradona, the Napoli stadium was named after him.

The Europeans are not behind in this list in the form of Dutch international Johan Cruyff, the German international Gerd Muller, Portuguese Eusebio any many more. The list is never finishing.

The new generation is not behind in the list as the list is ever expanding as the legends of Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Portugal continue to add to this list. French footballers carry on the legacy in the name of Zidane to Mbappe. Brazil and Germany add to this list the legends of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Klose, Philip Lahm and many more. However, the main duel is between the Portuguese Cristinao Ronaldo and the Argentinian Lionel Messi. However, Messi has suppressed Ronaldo after winning the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

This controversy is never ending. The new era of football has legends as the new generation of football legends. The list of hall of frames is expanding year by year. The great duel of Ronaldo versus Messi is supposed to come to an end. However, Pele suppressed them all by winning three world cups within a span of 12 years.
